Backtrack 5 R3 Released
Most awaited Linux distribution of backtrack backtrack 5 r3 was released on 13th august.
Backtrack is a security-focused Linux distribution with pre-loaded free penetration testing applications for linux. It is based on Ubuntu Desktop. The latest edition is code-named Revolution.
R3 focuses on bug-fixes as well as the addition of over 60 new tools – several of which were released in BlackHat and Defcon 2012.
This distribution is designed for penetration testers and other security professionals, or even black hat hackers. It has an entire new category called “Physical Exploitation”, which now includes tools such as the Arduino IDE and libraries, as well as the Kautilya Teensy payload collection.
BackTrack 5 R3 is available with a choice of KDE and GNOME desktops for 32- and 64-bit machines and the project also provides a pre-built VMware image.

To start in graphical interface you have to give command startx
The most important default username that you must use to login is root and the password is toor. This applies to both the GNOME and KDE editions.
If you have installed Ubuntu desktop previously then you will be familiar with the installation as it is same as that of Ubuntu desktop installation.
